Alumier MD Chemical Peels FAQ’s Answered!

AlumierMD Chemical Peel FAQ’s answered

1. What is a Chemical Peel?

”Chemical peels are able to help treat concerns such as pigmentation, acne, and aging skin, by increasing cell turnover and bringing newer skin cells to the surface. Applying chemical peels to your face allows professionals to provide your skin with the necessary actives that your skin requires to leave it feeling and looking youthful and smooth.”

2. Will AlumierMD chemical peels cause unsightly redness and peeling?

Post-treatment peeling is often similar to peeling after a tan. In some cases, exfoliation occurs on a cellular level and is not apparent to the naked eye. The exfoliation you will experience varies depending on skin profile. AlumierMD chemical peels are light- to medium depth, and are formulated to reduce irritation and redness.

3. What can I expect straight after a chemical peel?

The skin is initially tender and more sun-sensitive as the epidermis renews itself. After the peeling takes its course (usually 3-5 days after treatment), fresh new skin emerges and ingredients in homecare products start to work more effectively.

4. Where can I have a chemical peel?

Chemical peels are usually performed on the face, but may also be used on the neck, décolleté and hands.

5. How can they benefit me?

Peel treatments improve skin texture and firmness, decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. Peels also even out skin tone, improve acne-prone skin and reduce pore size appearance.’

Introducing Aesthetics at Rebecca Jaynes

By Ashleigh Holmes

I’ve gotten to know Rebecca over the past 12 months and I was so excited when she contacted me asking to join her beautiful clinic and talented team.

So a little bit more about me…. I’m Ashleigh (mostly known as Ash) I’ve worked in the dental industry for the past 15 years, initially as a dental nurse then following with distinction as a dental hygienist and therapist. For those who don’t know what that means, I am the person you get referred to for fillings and treatment of gum disease (and other things your dentist doesn’t want to do themselves). As much as I love dentistry, I felt I needed to add to my skill set, so in 2015 I embarked on what has become an ever growing career in facial aesthetics. Through time, practice and determination, I have learned the art of ‘skinjecting’. And I absolutely love my job! Can you tell?

Over the past 18 months, I have lost count of the number of hours I have spent training and learning.

As a dental therapist and hygienist, it is vital that we fully understand facial anatomy, this, along with my experiences of dealing with needle phobics, has earned me an amazing loyal client list.

I absolutely cannot wait to be joining clinic at Rebecca Jaynes, some of the treatments I will be offering include-

Dermal Fillers-

Lip enhancement, Cheek Augmentation, Nasal Labial Folds filler, Marionette Lines (laughter and sad lines), Non-surgical Nose Correction and Tear Trough Treatment.

Anti-wrinkle Injections

All areas including gummy smile

Microneedling

A brilliant and effective treatment for anti-aging, acne scarring and skin tightening.

Clinics will be held 2 Wednesday evenings per month and a consultation will be required for any anti-wrinkle treatment.

Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you very soon.

4 life hacks for a better you in 2017

Christmas time can be very exciting yet frantic, packed with family reunions and Christmas parties, but it can also take its toll on our health and wellbeing. Nursing a hangover isn’t the ideal way to start the New Year, whilst sticking to New Year resolutions can also be a struggle.

The key to starting afresh in the New Year is getting back into routine and reenergising ourselves. We need to snap out of the ‘Oh well, it’s Christmas’ attitude and pick ourselves up. At Rebecca Jaynes, we have a few tips for you to banish any post-Christmas blues and be prepared for the New Year. As they say New Year, new me; by just coming up with a few lifestyle changes and putting a stop to any bad habits, you can be a much more happy and confident person in the New Year.

Be active:

Many people say that their New Year resolution is to become healthier and more active, but often those plans are quickly forgotten about, especially when we notice all the left-over chocolates lying around the house. Overindulging during the festive period can cause you to feel sluggish and it can be difficult to get out of. Go for that first run and get that gym session out the way and you’ll feel much better. Are you exercising often without seeing much improvement?

For some people, despite going to the gym regularly, trying to get rid of stubborn fat can be a lifetime struggle. If it is really getting you down, give yourself the boost you need with our new LipoContrast machine and get body confident in 2017. Our body sculpting LipoContrast will leave you with amazing results for areas such as your lower stomach and you can achieve abs to be proud of. It could be the motivation that you need to get healthy and become more active.

Bring bright colours into your life this New Year:

Mark the beginning of 2017 by throwing on a vibrant scarf or getting your nails glammed up. We associate Christmas with over-the-top, sparkly nails but our lovely nail technicians can come up with the set of nails to lift your spirit. Treat yourself to some me-time in the salon and go for bold and exciting colours or try new designs for your nails so that you feel extra good during January.

Semi-permanent brows:

Eyebrows can make or break your whole look. Why not throw away your never ending collection of brow pencils and try our microblading in Blackpool to achieve long lasting, natural brows? Our semi-permanent makeup service near Manchester has seen many amazing results for our clients and has given their look a real boost. Our very own talented Rebecca Abram knows the ins and outs of this procedure so rest assured, you will be leaving the beauty salon with the most perfect set of natural, undetectable brows.

Dry January:

After a month filled with heavy drinking, a lot of people take part in dry January. It’s such a great way to get out of your lazy habits and concentrate on the New Year. Being hangover-free for a whole month will make you feel so fresh and your skin will definitely look much smoother and healthier.

Beat those winter blues

final

Beating the winter blues

As we go through the coldest time of the year especially as we prepare for Christmas, our nights are longer and we start the countdown for the summer! So it’s not surprising that we start to feel those winter blues set in. Over the last few weeks, we have been chatting to our clients & discussing remedies to help us through the winter months.

So here are our top 5 favourites for an instant pick me up

 1. Dose up on vitamin D:

Possibly the most powerful remedy, so we decided to put it as our number one! 1 in 5 people in the UK are low in vitamin D, vitamin D comes from a chemical reaction in our body derived from the sun so it’s no surprise this number rises during winter. Symptoms such as tiredness, aches & pains as quite a common start to the winter blues and generally not feeling well. So a top up of vitamin D in a daily tablet is just what you need, studies show that after taking one tablet a day you feel more alert, less tired and generally brighter.

We found these powerful vitamins are the perfect supplement, as they contain a high dose of vitamin D and the tiny tablets are easy to take 🙂

 2. Book a holiday:

Do we need to say anymore on this one, book some time away to just relax and read a good book you will come back feeling refreshed and relaxed ready to celebrate Christmas or maybe just after Christmas, something else to look forward to as you approach January, throughout the year we offer a wide range of beauty treatments to prep you for your holiday

 3. Exercise:

Being outside in the fresh air and natural light is a great way to make you feel better during the cold winter months, swimming is great for toning, going for a light run or brisk walk for just 30 minutes a day is all you need.

Or for those of you that don’t want to exercise outside or have limited time then we have found the perfect at home workout for you, Yoga with Adriene (Yoga Camp) is a great way to work out at home without going to the gym. Adrienne’s relaxed approach is a great introduction to your yoga practice:

 5. Eat Healthy:

This goes hand in hand with exercise, but it is so true that you are what you eat. If your diet consists of fatty foods and takeaways then your bound to feel sluggish and tired all the time, but if you eat lots of protein, fruit & veg you will naturally feel ready to then maybe save the over indulgence for your Christmas meal! Foods like dark leafy greens, pomegranates, citrus fruits, potatoes & winter squash are all loaded with vitamin C, B6 & antioxidants and are fantastic to get you through winter, give them a try.

We hope you’ve enjoyed the read, and find our remedies useful to help you through the winter months 🙂
