Meet the team
I began my career in the beauty industry, over 15 years ago, training as a nail technician by the owner of Young nails UK, Steven Dodd. Shortly after training, at the age of 17 I started out on my own, with £400 in my bank account and a spot at a local salon, I began building my client base, and worked hard to build a reputation of being a perfectionist and producing high standards of work. Over many fantastic years in the industry and as our team grew, I decided it was time for a change. It was then that I came across an amazing lady called Karen Betts, owner of Nouveau Beauty Group, and the incredible work that she does for the Katie Piper Foundation, this sparked a desire to enter this field and I hoped one day I could also provide these incredible treatments that could help others. So in 2011 I began my journey into the world of Permanent makeup.
After 2 years in the Industry, my skills were recognized and I was invited to join the Nouveau Contour training team which later led on to being asked to work for the Katie Piper Foundation and perform treatments for burn survivors across the North West and Scotland. This part of the job I absolutely adore, there’s no better feeling than knowing you have helped someone to feel better about themselves.
Having held clinics in Harley Street and Mayfair, London, I am now concentrating all of my efforts in to the new Poulton location. Although Permanent Makeup and Micro-blading is now my passion, I will always love doing nails, and love catching up with some of my long standing clients that have been coming to me for over 15 years.
I love business, and helping others to achieve their goals in their careers, especially when it involves the beauty industry. I’d like everyone to know that anything is possible and if I can pass on the knowledge I’ve gained over the years in business through plenty of trial and error, it leaves me with a lovely sense of achievement.
From the age of 14, Loren knew she shared my love for beauty. She spent endless nights after school in the salon watching me work, and working Saturdays to get an insight into the industry. After leaving school and gaining an NVQ in Business admin, she came on board, working full time whilst also studying Business Studies, she perfected her skills in nails and built her client base and reputation.
Loren later went on to achieve NVQ Level 3 in nail services and amongst her achievements, her perfectionist nature and ability to work fast under pressure is what has seen her being invited to work alongside top fashion designers and models at London fashion week, creating the latest looks for the catwalk.
Loren is my right hand girl, and works incredibly hard to ensure the smooth running of the salon whilst I am travelling with my teaching or tucked away in my clinic performing permanent makeup treatments. It is so important to her that our clients are happy and will often work until all hours if a client has a big event to attend. Her passion shows through her work. And she is a beautiful person inside and out.
She’s super creative and loves DIY craft projects as well as makeup and all things skin care related! After trying so many treatments out herself she has tons of knowledge in this area.
Kim embarked on her journey in the nail and beauty industry after she left school, and was awarded her National Diploma in Beauty Therapy. Having worked at Rebecca Jaynes when the salon was in its infancy stages then going on to run her own business, she decided she missed being part of a team and applied for the position back at the salon in the summer of 2014. We were delighted to have her back on our team and her well thought out and intricately designed CV showed us how perfect she was going to be for our ever growing team of perfectionists. Kim is now an independent contractor of Rebecca Jaynes, and is working hard to build her client base.
Kim’s lovely nature and genuine care for people, makes you feel an instant warmth when you are in her company. She loves baking, and is fascinated by people, she loves talking to people and finding out about their lives.
Victoria always knew she wanted to work in the beauty industry, from a very early age, she had her sights set on going to Beauty college when she left school. So in 2006, she began her journey at Blackpool and Fylde college. Victoria went on to achieving a National Diploma and Foundation degree in Beauty Science and professional practices. Having worked at the popular Dove spa, and Re-Aqua she went on to become Spa manager at the Village (formerly known as the Devere) and has spent several months on the road as a business development manager for St Tropez and Essie.
During this break Victoria expanding on her knowledge in the industry and loved learning about the best products on the market and getting a behind the scenes look into the industry, however she couldn’t wait to get back to doing what she loves, performing treatments for her clients.
So after doing lots of research into our salon, and popping in for a brow treatment, she was delighted when a position came available. Seeing the book ‘The Secret’ lying around on our coffee table, she saw this as the final sign, and promptly applied for the position.
Victoria is a true professional and strives for perfection with everything she does and this impressive CV is a true reflection on her drive and determination to be the very best in the industry. Her sweet, chatty and bubbly personality won us over from day one, and she is an asset to our team. Victoria’s love for makeup, lashes and all products makes her the perfect go to gal if you have any questions on the best products on the market.
Julie started her career in the beauty industry when she left school in the year 2000. After completing her National Diploma in beauty therapy, she went on to become an amazing therapist at Ribby Hall beauty salon, and later went on to become Salon Manager. After a gap year of travelling around Europe, Julie decided it was time she started her own business and fancied a change. She opened a very successful lady’s boutique called Room One and thoroughly enjoyed her time interacting with her customers and providing fashion advice for the ladies of the Fylde. When the time came to start a family, she decided to sell her business to spend more time with her young family.
We felt extremely lucky when Julie applied for the position of salon coordinator, knowing Julie well, I knew she would be perfect for the position. Her extensive knowledge of the beauty industry, leadership skills and amazing customer service makes her perfect for this role. Our clients fell in love with her bubbly personality, infectious laugh and ability to put you at ease instantly.
