Everything You  Need To Know About Microblading: The Must-Have Method for Beautiful Brows

I often get asked about the best methods to achieve a good set of brows. I know the struggles of those early mornings – trying to find ways to cut corners, forgoing that perfectly brewed coffee in order to sport that perfectly winged eyeliner – or maybe even neglecting steps of your beauty routine entirely. Brows can take up so much time and definitely can’t be rushed, often uneven or too dark, yet we can’t leave the house until they are 100% right.

Microblading is the new on trend semi-permanent makeup for eyebrows – it’s a beauty secret of ours that we’ve been dying to tell you about!

What is microblading?
Microblading, otherwise known as the hand tool method, is a semi-permanent eyebrow procedure which originated in Asia and is fast becoming the treatment of choice in brow design for men and women across the UK. It is a preferred method to the machine as the machine deposits more colour, making the hair strokes heal thicker and fuller, thus creating a slightly more powdered effect when healed.

Brow Benefits

Natural results

As opposed to outlining and filling in your eyebrows as many methods do, our microblading service close to the Liverpool area creates natural hair-like strokes into the skin. It will not replace a heavy pencil look as it is deposited under the skin not on top of the skin, however, it will give you the perfect guide to follow with your pencil in the morning if you want a stronger look.

Save time:

As microblading implants pigments into your skin, you do not need to wake up every morning with the routine task of applying your makeup. You could spend days in the office or work up a sweat at the gym without the worry of losing the shape of your brows.

Virtually painless two hours:

Even though we all have our busy schedules, the premium microblading service in our Poulton clinic (conveniently close to Manchester, Liverpool and Blackpool) only requires a few hours. You can have a natural, perfect set of brows for months on end, instead of stressing over uneven brows every morning. microblading-rj

A blog was born…

Beauty Blog- Perfectly Imperfect

A little intro to our beauty blog

When we began to design our website, we decided that we wanted to provide a beauty blog for our clients. A platform where people can enjoy catching up on all of the latest trends and beauty secrets passed amongst ourselves in the salon on a daily basis.

We are extremely lucky to spend most of our waking hours talking to our clients, covering a wide range of topics. If there is anything we ever need to know; we can guarantee that one of our clients will have the answer. Not to mention being a team of 9+ girls, there is very rarely an occasion when we’re not talking beauty. We love sharing our beauty finds and love to introduce new treatments and products for our clients to try.

So we thought it would be cool to share this with our online community, take all of the fab ideas we get from our clients and combine these with our expert advice, to provide useful, honest opinions and advice on all things beauty and lifestyle related. And so, our blog was born…..

Our salon journal/beauty blog

Our blog will be our salon journal, where we will be sharing all our beauty tips, skincare advice, latest Beauty trends and treatment information.

Now we don’t profess to be the best writers out there, and we certainly can’t promote a product or idea if we don’t believe in it. We don’t endorse any products and don’t get paid to advertise anything that we choose to write about. We simply write because we want to share our findings and we love to provide advice with our expertise in the industry. So welcome to our perfectly imperfect blog, where we hope you will find some honest, reliable little gems of information.

So here’s to sharing and helping others, dreaming big, laughing when we fail, rejoicing when we succeed and embracing life’s imperfections. We hope you enjoy the read and we look forward to hearing your comments.

Cute Cuticles- DIY

Cute Cuticles

How to make your own, homemade cuticle oil

I find, especially during the winter months, my cuticles can get so dry and dehydrated. I spend time on having my nails beautifully manicured, or take the time to pick the perfect colour, but seem to totally neglect my cuticles. When my cuticles look dry and scruffy, it doesn’t do my nails justice one bit.

Although we do sell our chosen cuticle oil in salon, if you have the time, there’s something really special about creating your own homemade version, and it is so easy and in expensive. It can also make a perfect gift idea if you’re strapped for cash, or if you fancy putting a bit of love into your gift ideas.

So here is our blog on how to make your very own cuticle oil.

You will need-

  • 20 drops of frankincense essential oil
  • 20 drops of orange essential oil
  • 4 tablespoons of Jojoba oil
  • 1 tablespoon of vitamin E oil
  • A small, dark tinted glass bottle with dropper
  • Pretty ribbon or accessories to decorate your bottle

Why we chose these oils in particular-

  • Frankincense oil– promotes cellular health, as well as calms and soothes the skin. It also has a high vibrational aroma, which helps to relax and balance mood swings. One of it’s most popular uses is to apply a couple of drops to your finger nails to help strengthen your nails. Which is why it is a perfect ingredient for our homemade cuticle oil.
  • Orange essential oil– not only does it smell amazing and has an uplifting effect on your senses, but this oil has many properties, including being an anti-inflammatory, an anti-depressant, diuretic tonic and many more. If you have any cracks or cuts around your cuticles, orange essential oil can help avoid bacterial or fungal infections occurring, due to it’s antiseptic properties. It is also very good for maintaining healthy, smooth and glamorous skin.
  • Jojoba oil-This is our chosen carrier oil. When using essential oils on the skin, it is essential that you mix them with a carrier oil, diluting the potency of the oil to avoid adverse reactions. Jojoba oil, unlike most vegetable oils, closely resembles human sebum, so it’s uses and benefits to the skin are amazing. Since it has a very low melting point, it practically remains in the liquid state all of the time, making it a perfect carrier for our cuticle oil. (no messing around having to heat the bottle before you use it, as with coconut oil).
  • Vitamin E oil– we chose to add this as a little extra loving for your cuticles. Vitamin E is a nutrient to the skin, it’s also an antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals which damage cells. Although it wouldn’t be super beneficial on it’s owns, teamed with these other powerful ingredients, it will have a fabulous effect on the skin around your nails.

And the method-

Simply mix all of the above ingredients into a small bowl, stir, and use your dropper from the small glass bottle to transport the mixed oil from your bowl into your bottle. Tie a nice ribbon around the bottle and label it if you wish, and Voila! You have yourself a powerful, beautiful smelling little cuticle oil, that will last up to 2 years if its stored in a cool dark place.

Feel free to swap out the orange essential oil for lavender or lemon, whichever you like the smell of the most.

We hope you enjoy making this handy cuticle oil, and would absolutely love to see your creations, or hear any of your own recipes for making your own skin care!

Longer Lasting Lashes

The key to longer lasting lashes is all about teamwork between you and your lash specialist.

Your lash specialist will give you a full set of luscious lashes and provide an infill every 2-4 weeks to bring your lashes back to life! Lashes should all be personalised to suit you. Whether you are looking for; length, fullness, natural or eye catching there are lots of options in the Individual and Russian Volume range to suit your individual style. All you need to do between your infill appointments, is look after your lashes using a few simple tips to ensure they last as long as possible and you keep your natural lashes nice and healthy.

So here’s what you need to do…

-Allow the glue to bond between your natural lash and your lash extension for 48 hours by avoiding water, steam, saunas, swimming and sweat. Lashes may fall out early if the glue isn’t given enough time to dry so wash around the eyes and avoid rubbing.

-Protect the bond between your natural lash and your lash extension by using a clear coating sealant for a glossy high shine or black coating sealant for a more dramatic mascara look for Individual Lashes only.

– Avoid using mascara or strip lash adhesive with your lash extensions as these products will clump your lashes together and the weight from the products will pull on your lashes causing your lashes to fall about before they are ready.

– Time to train yourself to sleep on your back- this may be tricky at first for those of you that sleep face down in your pillow but to keep your lashes looking perfectly gorgeous everyday you will soon get use to this. The pressure from sleeping on your lashes will causes your lashes to fall out sooner.

– Oil will break down the bond between your natural lash and lash extension therefore avoid oily eye make-up and stick to a non-oily eye makeup remover, a water based product is perfect.  Cleanse your eye area morning and night with your eye makeup remover on a cotton wool bud to remove eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara from your bottom lashes and to keep the skin around your eye area fresh and clean.  Breaking the bond with oily products will cause the lashes to fall out and make Russian Volume lash fans close up leaving you with clumpy, sparse lashes.

– Your lashes have been pre curled and picked specially for you, so avoid eyelash curlers and perming as these will destroy your lash extensions, ensure your lash specialist discusses your desired lash look before your treatment begins.

– Now you have an extension on your lashes let’s treat these like your hair and give them a little comb morning and night after cleansing and once dry to keep your lashes amazing from one appointment to the next.

As your own lashes will naturally fall out a new lash will regrow. At your 2-4 week lash infill appointment your lash specialist will apply new lash extensions to new natural lashes.  Therefore it is essential you follow our longer lasting lashes tips to keep your natural lashes healthy and keep your new lashes fuller for longer!

I hope you find this information useful, and if you have any questions about the lash extensions I offer, feel free to comment below or call our salon.
